- Weakness and fatigue
- Muscle cramps
- Weight loss
- Nausea and vomiting
- Upper abdominal pain
- Easy bruising and bleeding
- Jaundice (yellow discoloration in the skin and eyes)
- Swelling in the legs, feet, or ankles (edema)
- Reduction in breast size and irregular periods in women
- Spiderlike blood vessels on the skin
- Redness in the palms of the hands
- Pale fingernails, especially the thumb and index finger
- Clubbing of the fingers, where the fingertips spread out and become rounder than usual
- For men, loss of sex drive, testicular shrinkage, or breast enlargement (gynecomastia)
- Confusion, drowsiness, or slurred speech (hepatic encephalopathy)
In severe cases, there may be additional symptoms such as:
- Fever
- Bones that break more easily
- Blood in your poop
- Vomiting blood
- Light-colored poop
- Pee that looks brownish or orange
